It was a reliable part of the family for 10 years until it was given to one of my aunts.

The car was a two-tone edition in light and dark blue and featured an all-chrome jet airplane/spaceship as a hood ornament. Here is a picture showing that configuration as well as me and my older sister and her friend before the first day of grade school in September, 1959.

I happily have this year Pontiac in diecast in scale and they are real prized replicas.

I did grab Great American Dream Machines concept cars when I could find them at shows. But this Motor City Design Studio Road and Customs 1949 Mercury lead sled was so beautifully well done with such a gorgeous finish, I just couldn't resist. I do have a decent number of their 1/24 models and this Merc is  just as jewel-like as their larger scale models.
