Tony always takes great shots. He's the best. Always loved his reviews in the bygone days.
One of the 2 models missing from my Thunderbird collection. How good do Tonys pictures make it look?
DM did a fantastic job on these '55 Birds; they (when so many others failed) managed to get profiles correct regardless of viewpoint. But like the 1:1, there are NO fender seems.
Q: So....Ford welded those body panels? Filled in the panel gaps with lead? How does one remove a fender? 🤔 🤔 🤔
Chris that's exactly how they did it. Replacing body panels usually requires cutting out the damaged part. GM and Chrysler also welded body parts together and filled the gaps with lead.

Thanks Bob. Yeah, I'm aware of automakers using lead to fill seems (quarter panels, C-pillars, etc...) But fenders? I guess that's one way to eliminate uneven seem gaps! 😏 😏 😏
@chris Having owned a couple of baby birds I had the chance to study them closely. The front fenders were welded at the cowl and grill surround. Ford didn't build the bodies on the baby birds or the square birds as they were built by the Budd Company in Butler , Pa.
