Here is another weird one - made by SMTS but totally unmarked. Arrival Electric van - a few real prototypes were made before the company in the UK went out of business (2021-22). I assume they wanted SMTS to make the promos but only a few 1/43 prototypes were made. Recently found at the back of the factory and sold to me! I don't collect vans or electric cars, but I had to have this one. Very heavy and cold to the touch, so I think it has white metal parts... The factory described it as "Resin body with metal parts"

I have been looking to expand my very small (tiny, in fact) group of vintage Horch models, in 1/43, 1/24, and/or 1/18 scale, so I thought I would post a general note and see if anyone has a lead on two of the most sensational Horch automobiles ever created (in my opinion) - the 1937 853 Sport Cabriolet bodied by Voll Ruhrbeck and the 1938 853A Sport Cabriolet bodied by Erdmann & Rossi. If anyone has information on a company who did/does make models of either car please let me know.

This is a Welly diecast model of the sleek and good-looking Mercury Cougar Eliminator from 1970. They have done a '70 XR-7 and Ertl has done excellent 1969 versions of this Mercury car.

Nostalgia Models...

The 1950s still saw a lot of home delivery vehicles. I remember small trucks offering to sharpen your knives and lawn mower blades. As a kid, the ones that I looked forward to were the Divco dairy truck that delivered un-homogenized milk in the early morning. Before school I would get the bottles from the milk box and pour the cram off the top for my cereal. Another Divco was a bakery truck that I'd flag down for their fudge topped cup cakes. But the real summer treat was from the Chevy 3100 "Good Humor" truck. I would here the bells in the distance and shake my mother down for the 15 cents toget my favorite treat - the Toasted Almond bar. These two trucks were such an integral part of suburban life in the 1950s.

A little Brooklin!!!

Fiat came out with an electric 500 in 2020. With Brooklin's close connection with the Italians (see their larger Fiats and Alfa Romeos), it seems they made a promotional model for the release of the real one. I got wind of it via a Facebook post more than a year ago but did not see a single one for sale anywhere. Now, it seems Brooklin had one left in the back of the factory, so I picked it up recently from their eBay outlet store! #1 of 275. And I still do not see any for sale anywhere... maybe people are hoarding them? hahaha In any case, why did I even buy this? I don't collect, 1/64, or Fiats or electric cars or promo cars... But I had to have it.

To those who celebrate Easter...

The church I pastor is hiring a co-pastor. He'll be here next week. If everything works out, he will eventually be my replacement, probably sometime during the next twelve months. I love what I do, but I'm beginning to feel my bandwidth narrow, and, at seventy-three, I am looking forward to taking a step or two back.
