(Pics) 1957 Mercury Convertible (Turnpike) Cruiser
This is Yat Ming's release of the cool-looking '57 Mercury, in this case a white convertible in their Turnpike Cruiser line from that year,
It looks so much better without the continental kit.
For those of us with a different taste, here's the ERTL version:
ERTL did some pretty good detailing, too.
And using this one, here is another variation off the workbench long ago. A replica of a car my uncle and aunt had in the era.

Not bad, not bad at all John. 😆
And in 1957 Mercury was the chosen pace car for the Indy 500. Ertl made a version, but I prefer the Minimarque.
Let's go the Brooklin Model route. The Turnpike Cruiser one one of my favorites as a 18 year old.
I have the Neo one in hardtop.

Did Minimarque ever make this car without the pace care graphics?

@ed-davis Yes, I found some courtesy of Google. A lilac and black version was particularly striking.
