Storing 1:18 models...

A week or so ago, I remember participating in a conversation about storing 1/18 (or was it 1/24?) models away from dust and such, but with lighting. Today, I received a new case and before I fill it up I thought I would show how a 1/18 or a 1/24 model can be stored in the 1/43 diorama. I wish I could remember where the discussion was taking place, but my mind has some limitations when it comes to memory, so I'm posting the results here. The first image is the actual diorama 'garage/showroom' and the second one is the diorama with a 1/18 BOS Bentley inside it. The third shows a 1/24 Packard in the same diorama (without the Bentley, of course). I would probably only put a 1/18 convertible inside this case because the roof blocks out the overhead lighting for the larger car. Anyway, I hope the person who was considering this option will stumble across this thread.

I forgot to mention: these dioramas can be connected together, to run off one switch, with several different lighting options.

My Take On the FM 1950 Chevy Deluxe Convertible

The model is very well done for its age. Yes, dog leg hinges abound and the Blue Flame Six lacks ignition wiring, but the finish is well done and the interior is pretty spectacular from the dash to the upholstery. I really don't think you'll be too disappointed with this breakout year model for Chevrolet.

The model I bought today was never on my radar, I never had any intention of obtaining it. I don’t generally hunt out Franklin’s, I have only a handful of them, I much prefer Danbury’s. I’ve seen it a few times on eBay, thought it was kind of cool, but never thought it was worth the asking price, especially for an older low tech model. For the buy it now price on this one, it looks better and better!
