We are the same age John but I recall these cars and others of the post war era being very prevalent in my home town; even through to the late 60s. I suspect the difference may be that I lived on the west coast which has a very temperate climate; much easier on car bodies.
@jack-dodds, I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, where you could hear the cars rusting. 😱

Loving this generation Plymouth more and more. Ford is a close 2nd, placing the Chevrolet in last place.
