I remember an article on the 1966 Lotus Europa. The mid engine sports car looked really cool until the dimensions meant I couldn't fir in it and there was a veritable gun slit for a rear window. The rebirth of the Europa S (2006-2010) was similarly configured, but a lot more user friendly. Again, it was an ultra light weight mid engine sports car weighing only 1570 lbs in full spec. Because it was still diminutive, it really wasn't the GT car people were waiting for. A larger GT class model would come later with the Lotus Esprit. The horizontally positioned, fuel injected 2.0 liter turbo 4 produced 200 or 220 HP with only a 6 speed manual offered gave a decent performance of 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 154 mph. It was not configured for the American market, but still sold 9230 units. Model by AUTOart.
