(PICS) This is still one of my favorite 1:12 models........
It's an Aston Martin DBR-1, as raced and won the 1958 Nurburgring 1000 KM race. Driven to victory by Stirling Moss and Jack Brabham.

That is a model?.............
fantastic work! I wish we had a 1:18 better than the model from Shelby Collectibles to represent this car.
Marshall, that's stupendous. Do the bonnet, doors and boot open?
Thanks Frank. Yup, it's a model. From one of my limited editions....
produced about 12 years ago.
(2 more PICS) Thanks Paul, glad you like it. This one is just a static - curbside....
piece. Nothing opens. If I was to produce it today I would add some more interior detail. I could have made these with all opening parts, but the time involved and engineering, etc would have been huge. I do like extreme detail and opening panels, but like me, most of my customers are ok with static pieces, and even the models they have with opening panels are mostly displayed all buttoned up.
By the way, this is a mostly Resin model, with some white metal parts. The wire wheels are the correct type & style for this car, and are individually hand spoked and made of Bronze. Also, the seats are upholstered in the correct fabric which was unique to the DBR-1, DBR2, and the 1956 DB3S.
My next Ltd. edition of the Scarab MkII in 1:12 scale will be along these lines, but with a completely detailed interior.

Just fantastic, Marshall, thank you.
Marshall, that is a beautifully crafted model.
Excellent attention to detail and it looks great in your photos against that diorama. I especially like the CMA Racing & Restoration sign!
The wire wheels look wonderful, which I always feel can really make or break a great model.
Marshall, I don't have to tell you I'm a fan of your work !
That is just amazing. What a talent. And the diorama's pretty good, too !
Thanks Paul.
Bryan, thanks very much, glad you caught my CMA sign......
and thanks much for the compliments, I appreciate them. By the way, I'm also a fan of your photography.
Bill, my number one fan..... thank you! And by the way.......
in between hitting the keyboard here today I am working on both the Scarab master and a Ferrari 250 SWB.
Warren Olsen has the orginal plans for the Scarab ..I just got a wand scanner and will try and copy it next time I am over there.
That would be great, I'd love to see them.
Amazing shots ! Both the model and pictures are real treats.
All those sexy compound curves..........
How long did ir take you before your were satisfied with the shape and finish of the master?
Beautiful work, beautiful car.... thaks for posting those wonderful pics.
