Show us your GMP "Greatest Hits"
Thought I'd make sure you guys not on the DZ mailing list were aware of the GMP promotion that was kicked-off this morning:
For three weeks beginning Thursday, August 1, the Diecast Zone Auction is calling all collectors to a gathering of fans of GMP. Sellers can realize the outstanding value in their GMP models by auctioning to collectors who understand GMP excellence. During the period August 1 through August 21, DZ is investing in advertising and promotion focused on GMP to stimulate demand. Sellers can expect heightened interest in GMP models among thousands of potential buyers.
During this celebration of GMP, five *high value* one-of-a-kind GMP models will be auctioned - direct from the Long family vault. A Letter of Authenticity personally autographed by Tom Long will accompany each "vault" model. The GMP posted series will include Real Art Replica #6 Ferraro 330P4 in 1:8 scale. Serial # is 0001.
So time to join in - I'll be listing a couple of models in the next day or two and suggest some of you that might have a few groaning shelves (or money burning a hole in your pocket) to join in the fun...
In the mean time - let's see your GMP Greatest Hits!

Here are a couple more:
The little '34 Ford Coupe...... supposedly made by Pork Chop down in the holler to haul shine. Great marketing idea, nice little coupe using existing molds except for the radiator shell and the scoop..... and a great back story. And unlike a lot that would follow, this one was really pretty. I think this model originally sold for $65.... boy weren't those the good old days ! There is one presently listed on ebay for $470.
The McLaren M8D #5 was never made except for five or so preproduction samples, but since it was the CanAm season Champion, I had to make one. Several discrepancies to the tool, but TSM in their remake has fixed these errors. Still a very nice car and a fun project doing the conversion.

The 1/18th scale Dirt Champ cars, Sprint, and Midgets on the 2nd shelf, and 1/12th scale Dirt Champ on the bottom shelf are all GMP. The 1/6th scale Offy engine is also by GMP.

1967 was a very exciting year in racing. The three P4's are all by GMP.
