Here ya go buddy. Now, I did do some detailing. They nailed the shape so much better, especially the rear quarters. That's why I went with this version. Not that the DM isn't nice. The slope of the rear quarters always bothered me. This one isn't perfect, but does look "more" correct. JMHO though. 😊

Here you can see the quarter panel difference.

CMW.

DM.

The real car.

The CMW is just another option.😊

The 1958 Buicks and Oldsmobiles are criticized for their chrome but the Impala had its share too, especially where the rear fender and door meet.

DM definitely got that rear fender slope wrong, I just never noticed.

Geno, legendary work on a legendary car!  You did it good!  I too, never realized how off the rear panel was on the DM version, and I love that model.  Do have to admit though, that I like it better with the skirts and not to nit-pic, but I'm NOT fond of the huge white-walls on the CMW model.  But those are just my eyes buddy.  THANK YOU for sharing!

Agreed.  But of the '58 GM line-up, I think Chevy is the most tastefully done with the chrome and the best looking Chevy the 50's decade.

@georgeschire Thanks George, I certainly do appreciate it.  I know it's not perfect, but I enjoyed working on it and how it turned out. 😊

I think the most glaring error on both the CMW and DM models is the "chrome strip" at the bottom on the sides.  It is way to wide compared to the the one on the real car.  That has always bothered me, because to my eyes, it doesn't add anything to the beauty of the car.  It would look much better without it IMO.

another improvement.

I bought my 58 hardtop from Rich Faber. Before selling Rich replaced the 'cannons' with much more to scale aerials. Big improvement IMHO.

A 'Blue Beauty' Geoff.

And Geno, as seen in your photos, above, #'s 3 & 4, the antennas look slick!! I like the CMW, due to better build proportions, more than the DM!

Regarding CMW models, I feel now that I missed out on some great models.  Wasn't even aware of them back in the day.  FM and DM were my main forte, and then later WCPD.  It's obvious by the photos shared here that CMW had some goodies.
