I have this one. Just wish it had skirts. Otherwise a fantastic model.

Sports Roadster

Randall;
Skirts were not provided on the Sports Roadster model because the 'Kelsey-Hayes' spoked wire wheels, (special to this model) protruded out too far, preventing the skirt from fitting. All other models had standard skirts.

Randall, the model is correct as skirts were not available with the wire wheels because of clearance issues. What's really unique about this model is that it has the swing away steering wheel which was optional in 61 and became standard in 62.

Hey Stanton, I must have been posting at the same time as you.

You are absolutely correct.

My regret is that DM did not make the 63 Sports Roadster as I own a 1/1 which took me 5 1/2 years to restore. I was told that it was in the works when DM shut down their model car program.

I can see how DM could make this operational as the trunk panel lines up. PICs

I would be interested to see how DM fit the folded top inside the trunk.

I'd like to have one with the "M" code engine option
