I just finished repainting and detailing my 1963 Impala so I thought that I would post a picture of the entire group. Starting from the left is Brooklin's 1961 Impala repainted, changed to a convertible and detailed, American Models 1962 Impala convertible, my recently completed 1963 Impala and Brooklin's 1965 Impala. Now to find a good 1964.

Nice group pic Ken; your '63 turned out really nice. Perhaps it's the angle/shadows but it appears to sit a bit high. 🤔 🤔

Ertl made a 1/43 "cheapy"  '64 Impala. Could you do something with that?

@chris. Yes, the '63 Impala does sit high. The model is from the James Bond collection and all of them are like that. The way that the under carriage is constructed make it very difficult to lower the car without extensive modifications. I decided to just leave it. I am considering the Ertl '64 Impala and making it into a convertible. To my knowledge, it is the only '64 in 1/43 scale out there.

THAT'S a James Bond "toy"  car?  A thousand pardons sir, forgive me. You did an EXCELLENT job!

I am NOT a 1/43 expert like many on this Forum. That Ertl 1/43 '64 may be the only Impala around, I simply don't know.

I believe it is currently, but Sergio has announced a new '64 Impala hardtop coming. Probably next year. I don't recall the colors.

Despite it sitting high, the '63 looks great. That along with the '64 are definitely on my wish list. Nice modification for the Brooklin '61, excellent color.

I strongly recommend avoiding the Ertl 1/43 1964 Impala.  They are notorious for suffering from metal fatigue.  If Goldvarg is doing one, that's the way to go.

I did quite a few things with that Ertl 1964 Chevrolet as seen here.

Great job on that beautiful 1963 Chevrolet Impala, Ken. That's a terrific line-up of Chevrolets. That's the way to see the USA !

@john-quilter. Very nice conversions on the '64 Impalas John. I am especially interested in the convertible. How did you find removing the roof? Easy, difficult?? I believe this model is diecast and not white metal. I imagine diecast is a lot harder to cut than white metal. Yes,no?? I have only attempted white metal so far.

@d-crowe. Thanks for your advise on the Ertl '64 Impala. Absolutely, the Goldvarg '64 that is due next year would be a far better choice. The problem is that his release is a hardtop and my fleet are all convertibles. I suppose that I could remove the roof however I have never attempted this modification on  a resin model and would be afraid of ruining a great model. Perhaps anyone reading this who has attempted this modification could comment.

PS:I may have crossed the line and should be addressing this in the "Model-Related Handicraft" forum, my apologies. Feel free if you would rather reply in the other forum.

@john-quilter Another terrific line-up John, which I've probably seen before. You have so many terrific line-ups, I lose count!   😏 😬 😏
