i went on car model site and i saw 1964 pontiac grand prix ?..it must be a prototype .if you bought it tell me if it is right .

If you are looking at the Goldvarg model, it seems to be available. This company is spoken of very highly here on the Forum 43. However, I can't find a US firm that has this Pontiac yet.

Yes, Dominion Models has it in both colors, as does Legacy Motors which you can find at the tab above. I got mine last week, and am very pleased with it.

I have purchased directly from him and the delivery is usually two to three days.

Did anyone tell him the outside mirror is too far forward? That may be a location for exported cars, but in the USA the mirror was on the door. Otherwise the car is stunning.

I believe these are factory prototypes. Somebody please correct me if i am mistaken.

"Collectible Automobile" magazine profiled the GPs in the June '90 issue.
There is no photo of a '64 with side mirror in the article, but both the '62 and '63 show the external mirror in the same location as on Goldvarg's '64. I would say it's probably in the right place, and that's where it is on my GP model received last week (so Mike's photos above are not of the factory prototype).
The '65 GP, though, shows the mirror on the driver's door, but that was a new body style.
It's a stunning model altogether, and I'm glad to have it finally.

No these are production models Ben.
I don't know enough about Pontiacs to comment on the position of the mirrors. All I would say is that model makers are dependent on the accuracy of restorations

I looked at some old photos of my Dad's '64 Star Chief, the mirror is in the same place as the GP.
