I know this is not 1/43. But because it's from Motor City, I thought some would be interested in seeing it.

Wow, what a fantastic model in any scale ! This Motor City Maserati is a real jewel and looks especially sleek in that gleaming red, John. It must be pretty overwhelming in 1/12 scale.
Absolutely gorgeous! Incredible detail and finish. I’d love to have this one, especially because I have been a lifetime Stirling Moss fan and have always liked Maseratis.Well done Motor City. Thanks JK for showing us something I did not know existed.
Beautiful model. I do not think you mentioned this, what material is the model?

@ed-davis, the documentation doesn't say. But it's not very heavy for its size. I'm betting it's resin.

An amazing model, and so unusual for an MOC! 😎
@karl, I agree. I'd like to hear the story behind it.

Could it have been made for them by another entity and yet marketed and sold by Motor City ?
@mikedetorrice, it's an original MOC. I just heard that it was released when MOC was dabbling in 1/24.

Wow, what a beauty !!! That's gotta be pricey if you can even find one as JK has said.
Now...hmm hmm...I watched Jk's 'My Take' 3x and please help me...but I don't see any tire valve stems in those gorgeous wire wheels...
Did this particular Maser not need them ? Or ?
Yes, that's a real pet peeve of mine..come on guys...that model can't be inexpensive.
Steve
I just did some searching on the internet. It appears the model was introduced in 2005 at a price of $850.

Thanks, John. It certainly is a remarkable model !

Holy Moly.. wow...way outta my budget back then 🙁
That's a mortgage payment for me...
For a model with no operating features, I don't think I would spend close to 1K on this. CMC is still making the best models in large 1/18 scale and all I owned before were masterpieces. I miss some of them.
They are taking orders for a 1/12 1938 Alfa Romeo Touring Coupe to be issued in 2023. All body parts are copper and of course it will have all operating features as the 1/18 model they already issued in 2014.
The price tag on the big one will be close to 7K.
CMC is one brand that requires you to move quickly on your purchase. Their secondary market values are nearly always very high.
