PICS: Impala time......1962 American Models Impala Convertible

I've shared my 1959 Impala with you and I've also shared my one of kind 1961 Impala with you. I've also shared my 1964 beauty as well. Now, I hope you will enjoy the pics of my American Models 1962 Impala Convertible. My combo for the 62 Impala has always been the Honduras Maroon with Black Interior. This is a beautiful model. Sure, it has its flaws, but overall, it captures the 1962 Impala Convertible perfectly. What a beauty.

It really pops, and evokes the original car.

A model doesnt need to perfect to do so.

The top ups are fairly rare, Patty. Nice piece!

Patty - Is this 1/43rd scale? And if so, did they ever do a '62 hardtop?

Hi, Ken....Yes, the model is 1/43. I think they did hardtops, I cannot say for certainty, though....

....Someone with more knowledge of American Models will need to help you with that one. It is White Metal and part of a sub-line of Motor City USA.

Anyone out there have a '62 Impala Hardtop in 1/43rd for sale - or know where I can get one?

Patty, as I wrote in my reply to you in your question below,

AM did do Impala hardtops with that neat roofline. I've seen them in cream,
black, and silver roof over blue body, and I'm sure that they were likely also
available in red and the Honduras Maroon as on your TU convertible. The model
number of the hardtops is AM7.

Oooo, Michel, I love this Black one with Red interior. I don't see too many of these around.....

...Thank you so much for the pic. Is this one yours?

PIC - Nice model, Michel. Here are 2 more hardtops from one of my old dioramas of a California Chevy dealer I made. I had a top up like Patty's in the showroom and a couple of hardtops on the street. My problem was finding suitable '62 Oldsmobiles for the lot, though! photo no longer available
