A fine overview of these great Matchbox selections ! I still have a number of those MB and MoY replicas and they are very cool.
By the way, I think the song in the video may be "Easy" ("Easy Like Sunday Morning") written by Lionel Richie and done by the Commodores, of whom he was a member at that time.
@david-green Hi David, you've likely moved-on from the present thread, but whilst searching on-line for a 1918 Mercedes-Benz open tourer (1/43) the following Matchbox model popped-up, which I found too curious to leave be............................
Any ideas?
Hi Charles,
This is a limited edition of 3500 1938 Mercedes-Benz KS15 Obendorf Fire Department truck Matchbox Yesteryear YFE07/SA issued as part of the International Fire Engine Collection, based on a real fire truck. Scale is 1/43. It was produced back in 1996. Diecast with plastic parts.
There were 40 fire truck in this series. I can list and show them (In the 1/43 Forum) if desired. I only have one in this series YYM-35188 1952 Land Rover Royal Navy Rescue Truck, also 1/43.

@david-green It certainly looks modern. I did wonder if it had been produced for some museum shop or the like. I guess you'll need time for other pursuits after your '50s / '60s Matchbox marathon, but the next time you are wondering about a theme, these fire trucks might not be a bad idea.
This is one of the three Matchbox models I had. Thanks for photos. Your model and box look great.

This one was one of my favorites as a kid; although even then I thought the color choice and application was rather odd. I have a MB one in my current collection.
75-A, 1958 Ford Thunderbird, 1/80 scale. Introduced 1959, discontinued 1964.
Two tone peach and cream body, grey plastic wheels. Metal base in various shades of blue with final base in black..
75 was the final number in the early Lesney/Matchbox series. One more model to come,75-B.
What a beautiful 1958 Thunderbird by Ford and Matchbox ! I have that same color Matchbox T-Bird that I got as a kid, and it was also one of my favorites. I believe it has the the deeper blue bottom plate but I will have to get it out and see.
75-B, 1958 Ferrari Berlinetta, 1/62 scale. Introduced 1965, discontinued 1970.
1965-1969 Jade green, unpainted base, disk metal wheels with black plastic tires, tan interior, clear glass, white tow hook.

1969 Red, unpainted base, wire metal wheels with black plastic tires, tan interior, clear glass, white tow hook.

Also, 1970 Red as above with Speedwheels without tow hook.
Hi Jack,

19-B MGA Sportscar
