I’m well aware that “rare” doesn’t always equate to desirable or valuable, I personally believe this DM is a true masterpiece. It’s an automotive icon, and it’s pretty much perfect in my book, I wouldn’t change a thing. If I didn’t already have it I would jump on this one, I myself think it’s under priced. I hunted one for a long time, they don’t show up very often, being one of only 1500, and this one looks nice and complete.

The Washington Blue/Black was popular - issued 6/2002. This Brewster Green wasn't released until 10/2009. The seller's ad is wrong, it isn't one of 1500, it's one of 1000.
Great acquisition!!
You are correct about the limited number being 1000, don’t know how that got past me. I also have and love the Ford maroon version 1/2000. After reading your comments I went to eBay and made an offer on the blue version, because as Confucius say;”You can’t have too many deuce roadsters!”
I have the Washington Blue/Black. Green looks nice, great pickup Kevin
@geoff-jowett I think my post may have been confusing. I picked up the green ‘32 roadster some time ago, I posted one that is currently on eBay as a buy it now in case one of the members is interested in purchasing it.
@perrone1 Congratulations Kevin. I have the blue and green roadsters and also the coupe in green. What I don't have is a maroon roadster.
A beautiful model. I have always much preferred the grille shroud of the '32 over previous Model A years.
@jack-dodds I agree Jack. The Model A grill shell was still influenced by the past where the radiator was still a focal point in design. Several years ago I built a 29 roadster hi boy, and like many, used a 32 Grill shell.
Fantastic pictures Kevin. I already knew I wanted the model in maroon when you first mentioned it now I want it more than ever.
@bob-jackman I doubt you will regret acquiring the model, it really is fantastic. I’m pretty sure I’m drawn to it because to me it looks more the color of Hershey's chocolate rather than maroon, a really rich look. Good luck.
When DM issued their '32 Ford Roadster in Washington Blue/Black in June 2002, it was state of the art except for the thick wire wheels. Meanwhile their newer Model A's received thinner, more realistically scaled wire wheels.
The 'Ford Maroon' issued in 2007 and Brewster Green, in 2009, had the nicer wheels.
I finally ordered the blue version Tony, got a twofer on eBay. The other model was the tan ‘31 roadster which I never considered as it was so common, and never really appealed to me. If I was going to get one, I planned on the black with green wheels version. Oh well, maybe it will grow on me. Besides, the guy was having a fire sale, his “Mint” cars were flying off the virtual shelves, he was asking 60- for my two, and accepted 40-. I haven’t received them yet but they appear to be pretty much pristine in their boxes so it seemed like a no brainer. Question; were there any changes that you know of from the tan ‘31 to the later black version other than the repaint?
A beautiful 1/1 ‘32
Auction pics of mine.
@kevins Very cool - Congrats!! The green & black roadster was a straight repaint; no improvements that I am aware of.
