SHELBY The Aston Martin DBR1, driven by Carroll Shelby, won the 1959 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This was the first and only time that an Aston Martin has won the prestigious race. The DBR1 was powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six engine that produced 250 horsepower. One of the unique features of the car was its lightweight design, which was achieved by using a space frame chassis and lightweight aluminum bodywork. The victory at Le Mans was a major milestone for Aston Martin and cemented the DBR1’s place in automotive history as one of the most iconic racing cars of all time. Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics.Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used.
