This is the Benetton B192 1992 Test Car Silverstone Driver: Perry McCarthy Car #20 in 1:18 scale by Tecnomodel. In 1992, British driver Perry McCarthy tested the Benetton B192 at Silverstone, piloting car #20 in what was a key opportunity during his brief but dramatic Formula 1 journey. Known as the inspiration behind the original “Stig” on Top Gear, McCarthy had a notoriously difficult F1 career, including a troubled stint with the Andrea Moda team. His test with Benetton, one of the more competitive teams that season, gave him a rare taste of a well-engineered and reliable car powered by the Ford HB V8. Though he didn’t secure a race seat, this Silverstone test was a highlight in McCarthy’s uphill battle for recognition in Formula 1 and remains a lesser-known but intriguing footnote in the team’s 1992 development program. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for the most authentic replication.
