Despite a challenging start that saw him lose position to Oscar Piastri on lap 5, Leclerc executed an early pit stop on lap 19 to undercut Piastri and reclaim third place. The race’s dynamics shifted when a Safety Car was deployed on lap 28 following a collision between Kevin Magnussen and Logan Sargeant. This timing disadvantaged Leclerc, who had already pitted, allowing Lando Norris—who hadn’t pitted yet—to take the lead and ultimately secure his first Formula 1 victory. Leclerc’s ability to manage older hard tyres effectively enabled him to maintain his podium position, demonstrating both his skill and the SF-24’s performance capabilities. Notably, Ferrari introduced a special livery for this event, featuring the historic ‘Azzurro La Plata’ blue, paying homage to the team’s heritage and adding a unique visual element to the race weekend.
