This is the Chenard & Walker Tank No.41 Le Mans 24H 1937 in 1:43 scale by Spark. In the 1937 24 Hours of Le Mans, the No. 41 Chenard & Walcker “Tank,” a streamlined vehicle originally introduced in 1925, was entered by Yves Giraud-Cabantous and driven by Charles Rigoulot, a renowned French weightlifting champion known for his extraordinary strength feats. Despite the car’s advanced age and innovative aerodynamic design, it faced challenges against more modern competitors. The 1937 race was notably marred by a severe accident early on, involving multiple vehicles and resulting in the tragic deaths of drivers René Kippeurt and Pat Fairfield, leading to the race being halted temporarily—a rare occurrence in Le Mans history.Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics.Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible. Each model comes with its own acrylic display case.
