This is the Porsche 917/20 4.9L Pink Pig #23 1971 24h Le Mans in 1:12 scale by WERK83.The Porsche 917/20 4.9L, famously known as the “Pink Pig”, was entered by Martini International Racing at the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans, wearing the number 23 and driven by Reinhold Joest and Willi Kauhsen. This experimental Porsche combined the wide body of a Can-Am car with the aerodynamics of a Le Mans prototype, resulting in a unique design that earned its nickname due to its pink livery with butcher-style cuts labeled across the body. Joest, who later founded the dominant Joest Racing team, and Kauhsen, an experienced endurance driver, piloted the car with high hopes. The 1971 Le Mans was historic, setting a record for the longest distance covered, thanks to the dominance of the 917Ks. Unfortunately, the Pink Pig retired due to brake failure, but its iconic livery ensured its place in motorsport history as one of the most memorable cars to ever race at Le Mans. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. These diecast models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Interior detail is hand assembled and easily visible. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for a most authentic replication.
