Unlike its competitors, the Shamal featured a handcrafted, wedge-shaped design by Marcello Gandini, complete with signature boxed wheel arches and an integrated rear spoiler, giving it a commanding presence. Under the hood, it packed a twin-turbocharged 3.2L V8, producing 326 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, making it one of the most potent and exhilarating Maseratis of its time. Its rear-wheel-drive setup, adaptive suspension, and race-inspired engineering provided an engaging driving experience, setting it apart as a true enthusiast’s machine. With only 369 units produced, the Shamal remains a rare and underappreciated gem, embodying the raw, exotic character of late-’80s Maserati performance.This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models areexceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of productionprocesses, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in theindustry as “resin”.
