This race was particularly grueling, with heavy rain causing treacherous conditions that led to numerous retirements. Hugus, an American privateer with a history of Ferrari entries, and Erickson demonstrated remarkable endurance and consistency in the powerful V12-powered 250 TR. The 1958 edition was historic for Ferrari, as the factory team secured overall victory with another 250 TR, reinforcing the model’s dominance in endurance racing.
