This is the Mercedes Benz 300 SEL 6.8 #1 24h Nürburgring 1972 in 1:18 scale by WERK83.The Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 #1, fielded by Team Mercedes-AMG and driven by Hans Heyer and Thomas Betzler, competed in the 1972 24 Hours of Nürburgring, continuing the legacy of AMG’s powerful yet unconventional racing saloon. Following its surprise success at Spa in 1971, the massive V8-powered luxury sedan took on the demanding Nürburgring Nordschleife, a circuit notorious for its punishing layout and unpredictable weather. Despite its size and weight compared to traditional race cars, the 300 SEL 6.8 remained a fan favorite due to its sheer power and aggressive racing spirit. The race was particularly grueling that year, with treacherous track conditions pushing both drivers and machines to their limits, further cementing AMG’s reputation as a force in endurance racing. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. These diecast models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Interior detail is hand assembled and easily visible. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for a most authentic replication.
