Unlike conventional transporters, this custom-built machine was based on the Mercedes-Benz O317 bus chassis, modified with a sleek, enclosed body designed specifically to carry Porsche’s legendary race cars, such as the 917K. Painted in the iconic Gulf Oil livery, it stood out with its futuristic, aerodynamic shape and practical design, allowing for multiple cars and essential race equipment to be transported in style. What set it apart from competitors was its perfect blend of Mercedes-Benz engineering reliability and Porsche’s racing pedigree, making it one of the most legendary transporters in motorsport history.This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models areexceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of productionprocesses, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in theindustry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often usedfor the most authentic replication.
