This is the Porsche 935/78 3.2L Turbo #43 1978 24h Le Mans in 1:18 scale by WERK83.The Porsche 935/78 “Moby Dick,” driven by Rolf Stommelen and Manfred Schurti for Martini Racing, was Porsche’s most extreme interpretation of the 935, featuring a long-tail aerodynamic design and a powerful 3.2L turbocharged engine producing over 800 horsepower. Competing in the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans, the car was blisteringly fast, setting the highest trap speeds of the race at over 366 km/h (227 mph). However, despite its speed advantage, mechanical issues prevented it from challenging for overall victory, and it finished eighth. This race was unique as it showcased one of Porsche’s most ambitious engineering projects, built specifically to dominate endurance racing but ultimately hindered by reliability concerns. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. These diecast models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Interior detail is hand assembled and easily visible. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for a most authentic replication.
