This is the Porsche 917 LH #15 1969 24h Le Mans Linge/Redman/Lins in 1:18 scale by WERK83.The Porsche 917 LH #15, driven by Herbert Linge, Brian Redman, and Rolf Stommelen (though Helmut Lins was initially listed), competed in the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race remembered for one of the closest finishes in history. The 917 LH (Langheck, or “long tail”) was designed for high-speed stability on Le Mans’ Mulsanne Straight, featuring an extended aerodynamic body to maximize top speed. Despite its blistering pace, the 917s struggled with mechanical reliability, and the #15 car was ultimately forced to retire. The 1969 Le Mans race is famous for the dramatic last-lap battle between Ford and Porsche, where Jacky Ickx’s GT40 narrowly defeated Hans Herrmann’s Porsche 908 by just a few seconds. Though the 917 LH #15 did not finish, its participation marked Porsche’s growing dominance at Le Mans, setting the stage for future victories with the 917 platform. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. These diecast models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Interior detail is hand assembled and easily visible. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for a most authentic replication.
