Under the hood lay a 427-cubic-inch V8 engine, officially rated at 430 horsepower but delivering closer to 560 horsepower, making it one of the most potent production cars of its time. The L88 was purpose-built for racing, featuring aluminum cylinder heads, a high-rise intake manifold, and a heavy-duty Muncie transmission. Unique among its competition, it was stripped of creature comforts like air conditioning and a radio to reduce weight and enhance performance. With only 116 units produced in 1969, the L88’s rarity, raw power, and track-focused engineering made it a dominant force on the race circuit and a highly coveted collector’s item.Excellent quality and finish.
