This is the Ferrari 512S Long Tail SEFAC Car #6 24h LeMans 1970 Driver: Vaccarella, Giunti in 1:12 scale by Tecnomodel. The Ferrari 512S Long Tail, designated as car number 6 and entered by SpA Ferrari SEFAC, was driven by Nino Vaccarella and Ignazio Giunti in the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans. Unfortunately, their race was cut short due to an engine failure after completing only seven laps, leading to an early retirement. Nino Vaccarella, known as the “Flying Sicilian,” was celebrated for his prowess in endurance racing, including a victory at Le Mans in 1964. Ignazio Giunti, a promising Italian driver, had demonstrated significant talent in both sports car racing and Formula One. The 1970 Le Mans race was particularly notable for the intense competition between Ferrari and Porsche, with the latter’s 917 model ultimately dominating the event. This race also gained prominence through its depiction in the 1971 film “Le Mans,” starring Steve McQueen, which featured authentic footage from the 1970 race, capturing the era’s racing atmosphere. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for the most authentic replication.
