Bandini and Guichet, both experienced endurance drivers, brought expertise and determination to Ferrari’s lineup in a year marked by fierce competition. The 330 P3’s 4.0L V12 engine delivered exceptional power and agility, but the race proved challenging as Ford’s GT40s displayed unprecedented speed and reliability. The 1966 Le Mans season became iconic due to Ford’s historic victory over Ferrari, ending Ferrari’s dominance in the endurance arena.
