This is the Porsche 908/03 Gulf Spider #7 1971 Targa Florio in 1:18 scale by WERK83.The Porsche 908/03 Gulf Spider No. 7, driven by Jo Siffert and Brian Redman, competed in the legendary 1971 Targa Florio, one of the most demanding road races in motorsport history. The ultra-lightweight 908/03 was purpose-built for twisty, mountainous circuits like Sicily’s Targa, where agility and braking mattered more than outright speed. Jo Siffert, a fearless Swiss driver known for his flair and speed, and Brian Redman, a seasoned British endurance ace, formed a formidable team. Although they didn’t win—finishing second behind the sister Porsche—their performance demonstrated the car’s technical brilliance and the drivers’ skill in navigating over 700 tight corners per lap on public roads. What made this race unique was its sheer brutality: narrow village streets, changing altitudes, and no margin for error, making it a true test of man and machine in endurance racing’s golden era. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. These diecast models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Interior detail is hand assembled and easily visible. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for a most authentic replication.
