This is the Porsche 908/03 Spider #8 1971 Targa Florio in 1:18 scale by WERK83.The Porsche 908/03 Spyder, driven by Vic Elford and Gérard Larrousse for Martini Racing, contested the 1971 Targa Florio with high hopes on the treacherous Sicilian mountain roads. Elford, already a Targa Florio legend with his 1968 win, paired with rally expert Larrousse to take on the grueling 72-kilometer Madonie circuit. The lightweight and agile 908/03 was purpose-built for twisty tracks like this, and though the pair showed blistering pace, their run was cut short by mechanical failure. The 1971 Targa Florio stood out as one of the last of the true road-course endurance races, with narrow village streets, mountain switchbacks, and barely any run-off—demanding unmatched bravery and precision from both man and machine. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. These diecast models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Interior detail is hand assembled and easily visible. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for a most authentic replication.
