The Ferrari 712 Can-Am stood out dramatically from its rivals thanks to its massive 7.0-liter flat-12 engine, producing immense power but also making the car heavier and more complex than the dominant McLarens of the era. Unlike most Can-Am competitors, Ferrari’s approach emphasized high-revving engineering and European design philosophy, making the 712 both spectacular and challenging to drive.
