This is the Maserati 300S No.1 Le Mans 24H 1958 Bonnier/Godia Sales in 1:43 scale by Spark. The Maserati 300S #1 competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with drivers Jo Bonnier and Francisco “Paco” Godia-Sales. Bonnier was a versatile Swedish racer who later achieved success in Formula One and endurance racing, while Godia-Sales was one of Spain’s most prominent international drivers of the 1950s. Their Maserati 300S was powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six engine and featured a lightweight open-cockpit sports-racer design intended for long-distance competition. In the 1958 Le Mans race the #1 car ran strongly but ultimately retired after 142 laps due to engine failure, illustrating the extreme mechanical demands of the 24-hour endurance classic. The Maserati 300S stood out from many rivals thanks to its elegant Italian engineering, balanced chassis, and powerful inline-six, making it one of the last great front-engined sports racers before mid-engine designs began to dominate endurance racing. Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics.Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible. Each model comes with its own acrylic display case.
