Sørensen is a multiple FIA World Endurance Championship GT title winner with Aston Martin, Riberas has been a long-time factory driver with numerous GT victories, and De Angelis is a former IMSA GTD champion who rose through Aston Martin’s young-driver program. What made the 2025 race particularly special was that it marked the competitive Le Mans debut of the Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar, a machine derived from the radical road-going Valkyrie and powered by a naturally aspirated Cosworth-built V12. The event also represented Aston Martin’s return to the top class at Le Mans for the first time in decades, aiming for its first overall victory since 1959, making the appearance of the #009 car a historic milestone in modern endurance racing.
