This is the Jaguar D No.1 6th Le Mans 24H 1956 in 1:43 scale by Spark. The Jaguar D‑Type No. 1 competed in the 1956 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing 6th overall with a strong effort from its drivers — notably Mike Hawthorn and Ivor Bueb — in a race that marked Jaguar’s continued dominance at La Sarthe and the sport’s technological progress. The D‑Type was one of the era’s most advanced sports racers with its aerodynamic body and monocoque construction designed specifically for endurance success. Although another D‑Type from the privateer Ecurie Ecosse team took overall victory that year, the No. 1 car’s performance highlighted Jaguar’s depth and competitiveness across multiple entries. The 1956 race itself was unique for safety‑driven changes to the circuit layout after earlier tragedies, continued innovation in racing aerodynamics and engineering, and its position during a decade where Jaguar helped push the average speeds and performance envelopes of endurance racing to new heights.Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics.Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible. Each model comes with its own acrylic display case.
