This is the AC Cobra Daytona No.5 4th Le Mans 24H 1964 D. Gurney/B. Bondurant in 1:43 scale by Spark. The AC Cobra Daytona Coupe No. 5, co-driven by American racing stars Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant, made a dramatic mark at the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans by finishing 4th overall and winning the GT class, outperforming the legendary Ferrari 250 GTOs in its category. Built specifically to tackle the high speeds of the Circuit de la Sarthe’s long straights, the aerodynamic Daytona Coupe set a new GT lap record in practice and saw speeds above 185 mph, proving its design brilliance despite being untested before arriving at the race. The performance was especially remarkable given that the car had never been driven prior to arrival and battled mechanical challenges during the 24-hour grind yet still cemented its place in endurance racing history as a potent American competitor among European giants.Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics.Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible. Each model comes with its own acrylic display case.
