This is the Ferrari 365 P2 Spyder Kyalami 9 h Winner 1965 car #1 D. Piper/ R. Attwod in 1:18 scale by Tecnomodel. The Ferrari 365 P2 #1, driven by David Piper and Richard Attwood, won the 1965 9‑Hour race at Kyalami, part of the South African Springbok Trophy series. Piper, a passionate British privateer, campaigned the 365 P2 — a customer prototype from Ferrari powered by a 4.4 L V12 — under his own team, David Piper Auto Racing. Attwood, who would later go on to win Le Mans, provided strong support with his technical skill and tenacity.  Their victory was hard‑fought as reported at the time, the team overcame a mechanical scare and a tough battle with Peter Sutcliffe’s Ford GT to take the lead late in the race.  What made this win especially notable was that it was achieved by a privateer team — not a factory effort — demonstrating how independent racers could take on major manufacturers in endurance racing’s golden era. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for the most authentic replication.
