- This is the Porsche Carrera Turbo RSR No.21 Le Mans 24H 1974 H. Koienigg / M. Schurti in 1:43 scale by Spark. The #21 Carrera RSR Turbo was one of Porsche’s bold experimental entries in the 1974 Le Mans, pairing Austrian driver Helmuth Koinigg with Liechtenstein’s Manfred Schurti. This was Porsche’s first use of a turbo-charged version of the 911 in the 24-hour classic, using a 2.1-liter flat-6 with a KKK turbo, wide wheel arches, a full rear wing and other aero upgrades. Unfortunately, car #21 dropped out in the 8th hour due to engine failure, while its sister car (#22) finished 2nd overall. The 1974 Le Mans stands out for the first turbo win just a decade later, but already in ‘74 the turbo RSR showed how reliability problems could still undermine pace, even as it pushed the boundaries of GT car performance.Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics.Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible. Each model comes with its own acrylic display case.
