- Review
This spectacular machine was commissioned by a wealthy young man named Philippe Baraud who wanted something to upstage the Delages, Hispanos etc driven by the other bright young things along the Lake Geneva “Swiss Riviera”. Lausanne coachbuilder Willi Hartmann was charged with clothing the full length Cadillac chassis and the design drew on the styling of the likes of Figoni & Falaschi.

Some of these details are very obviously copied such as the swirls on the wheel spats and the ornate trims around the front lights and the colours chosen echoed F&F’s 1936 Paris show car, with cream and orange. The model is very well finished and matches the black and white period photos of the first owner with his car very well. Subtle it is not and it will create a talking point in any display cabinet, just as it must have done rolling along the streets of Montreux in the late 30s.Reviewed by Four Small Wheels Magazine · January 26, 2017
