This is the Porsche 356A #151 1954 Carrera Panamericana Guillermo Girón in 1:18 scale by BBR. Complete with plexiglass display coverSponsored by the famous Mexican footwear brand “Calzado Canada” (Canada Shoes) and driven by Guillermo Girón (Guatemala), the car was painted with the prominent “Canada Shoes” logo. It was equipped with leather straps to secure the hood, stone guards on the headlights, and extra fuel capacity for the long desert stages.Carrera Panamericana is a legendary Mexican border-to-border race. This race was so significant for Porsche that they later adopted the “Carrera” name for their highest-performing engines and models. For races like the Panamericana, these cars were stripped of excess weight and fitted with leather straps on the front trunk, stone guards over the headlights, and reinforced suspension to handle the brutal Mexican roads. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. BBR models are known for their accuracy of scale, shape and detail throughout the industry. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for the most authentic replication. BBR models are usually produced in very small production quantities that often sell out at “pre-order”
