This is the Porsche 356A #53 1954 Carrera Panamericana Hans Joachim in 1:18 scale by BBR.Hans Joachim Hirz was a prominent German rally driver of the 1950s. While he is most famous for piloting the Agfa-sponsored Porsche 356 in European events like the Mille Miglia and the Tour d’Europe, his name is synonymous with the privateer effort that helped build Porsche’s reputation for reliability. The car is iconic for its Agfa (the German film and camera company) sponsorship, usually featuring a vibrant orange/red logo.Carrera Panamericana is a legendary Mexican border-to-border race. This race was so significant for Porsche that they later adopted the “Carrera” name for their highest-performing engines and models. For races like the Panamericana, these cars were stripped of excess weight and fitted with leather straps on the front trunk, stone guards over the headlights, and reinforced suspension to handle the brutal Mexican roads. This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. BBR models are known for their accuracy of scale, shape and detail throughout the industry. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for the most authentic replication. BBR models are usually produced in very small production quantities that often sell out at “pre-order”
