Jaguar D-Type No.5 4th Le Mans 24H 1956 J. Swaters – F. Rousselle in 1:43 scale by Spark. The Jaguar D-Type No. 5 of Écurie Francorchamps finished an impressive 4th overall at the 1956 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by Jacques Swaters and Frédéric Rousselle. Swaters, a talented Belgian racing driver and founder of Écurie Francorchamps, was instrumental in promoting Ferrari and endurance racing in Belgium, while Rousselle proved to be a dependable co-driver during the grueling 24-hour event. The D-Type stood apart from its rivals thanks to its revolutionary monocoque chassis, inspired by aircraft construction, and its distinctive vertical tail fin that improved high-speed stability on the Mulsanne Straight. Combined with Jaguar’s reliable 3.4-liter XK inline-six engine and advanced aerodynamic design, the D-Type became one of the most successful endurance racers of the 1950s, helping Jaguar dominate Le Mans with three consecutive victories from 1955 to 1957.Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible. Each model comes with its own acrylic display case.
