Prost quickly earned a reputation for his exceptional smoothness, intelligence, and strategic approach to racing, qualities that would later earn him the nickname “The Professor.” The McLaren M30, designed by John Barnard, was powered by the legendary Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0-liter V8 and featured a lightweight aluminum monocoque chassis with refined aerodynamics aimed at improving stability on fast circuits such as Zandvoort. Although the M30 enjoyed only a brief Formula 1 career, it showcased McLaren’s continued engineering innovation and served as an important stepping stone toward the team’s championship-winning cars of the 1980s.Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics.Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used.
