A few days ago I posted a note about a seller who was touting a 1/24 FM 1905 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. Subsequent to bidding I learned from esteemed members there is no such animal as a 1/24 RR SG in green, by FM, but there is a 1/16 model by FM. I sent several messages to the seller and received no response, so I ended up being the 'winner,' I was determined to let them ship it to me, since I had no other option, and then file a new claim. That was until it was delivered.
The packaging was very well done and the original box, and styro insert were in excellent condition, as well as the original brochure and tag. The model itself...well, I'll let you gentlemen form your own opinions.
Yes, I am keeping it, Bob. You were right, it is an exceptional model, so thank you for your advice.
So that model is a 1:12 version...
@modeldadeeee No, it's a 1/16. And, the seats are covered with real leather.
I'm surprised no one recognized 'her'. That's the 1905 Rolls known as "Little Sue". Indeed, 1/16th "Brass Era" model. TFM made quite a few of them.
One of my faves is TFM 1903 Model A Tonneau.
I just did a check on eBay. I searched; "Franklin Mint 1/16th scale" and it brought up a few of them. Ford Model T's are available and the Tonneau, a few as well. A little more expensive for specialties like these:
Congratulations on a really fine model, even though it was not what you originally intended. I suspect that this one might be more valuable.
@david-green I would be embarrassed to share what I paid for it. I have another RR coming tomorrow, and another Rolls next week. It's been that kind of week for bargains.
@perrone1 I introduced our German friends to my Jack Daniels burgers at our cookouts. I would love to have that setup, with all of the components. Perhaps after I have finished gathering up the RRs and Bentleys on my list?
@perrone1 I know of TSM, but TFM is a new one for me.
@perrone1 Ah, I should have sorted that out. Thank you.
