"CMC" ...meaning "Chris Moroni Creation" (sorry folks 😉 )Â
I'll be brief, about 10+ years ago I decided to replicate in, 1/18 scale, my mother's first new car. I started with an 1/18 Ertl "American Graffiti" 1955 Chevy. A ton of work later (posted here on this very forum in a 34 parts series) resulted in this. Unfortunately, she never got to see it.
Basically, this '56 has been in a showcase since completion. No nit-pic-king please; I see about 15 things I can fix or could've done differently. Included are just a few pics from the original posting....so many years ago.Â
Tomorrow will be the 20th anniversary of her passing. Here is her car.

It's absolutely no fun if I can't nitpick. Seriously, that was a helluva project. Well done, sir.
Excellent ! What a great-looking 1956 Chevrolet and in a very neat color scheme.
I am super impressed with this very difficult transition from a 55 to a 56. Excellent work Chris.

Yes, yes it was. It's hard to believe 10 years have past.

Thanks. You're one of those who might remember this project from "long ago."

Thanks. There was alot involved including finding the correct 1/18 6-cylinder engine block then scratch-building all the value-added components. As I recall, that 34 part series (the project) lasted about 5 months. 🤔 🤔Â
Here's a fun pic....  I pirated a "cheapy" 1/18 Chevy Belair for the front clip, rear quarters and several odds & ends. This is what was leftover...
This is hands down one of the most impressive diecast modifications ever. The level of work and detail is just extraordinary. Folks, Professor Moroni neglected to mention that the removable dipstick reveals oil that was in the pan and the realistic hood hinges that replaced the doglegs!Â
@chris - We did side-by-side projects. I was doing my first funny car, the Butch Leal AWB Plymouth. That was in late 2009, about 12 1/2 years ago. Time flies.Â
Chris and Marty I have been here the entire time watching you two outdo each other's builds. Fun times.

"Fun times"   ??  There's nothing fun about it. I do these mods because I'm nuts! Marty's painstakingly replicating every drag car (and a few trucks) ever raced.
"Fun times"  ??  Yeah right! LOL 😉 🙄 😮 😉 🙄 😮Â
WOW.....just WOW
Thanks John.
