1953 Hudson Hornet from Highway 61 due out this month

This model in Cream over Surf Green makes an excellent companion to the 1952 Hudson Hornet in Maroon over Cream. The difference in the 53 was very subtle. Slight grille difference and different hood ornament. Big impressive car great quality as usual from Highway 61. The other color choices are dark over light blue and all red. The green is by far the best looking.

Glen, I like all the '53 colors but the blue one is calling my name.

That Hornet looks good, but I'm going for the Toro Red model and no one will stop me. HA HA HA HA!

Check out Cars of the Fabulous Fifties

It seems that Highway 61 must have looked at the book but got the years mixed up in their manufacturing order. The Maroon over Cream was made a 1952 but in the book it is pictured as a 1953. The two tone blue that will be the 1953 is shown in the book as a 1952. My only question is are the colors Highway 61 chose for the models correct for both model years 1952 & 1953?
The book is correct.

You're going to flip over this one - especially in the green. But wait 'til you get your meathooks on the stock cars! Whoa!

The success of these Hudsons, and the Studebakers, should show these diecasters that non-Chevy 50's cars sell. Now it's time for them to give us the '50 Olds 88, '49 Cadillac Sedanette, and the '52 Mercury. Come on guys, we;re waiting.

I try to avoid red or blue cars since I have so many of them. I went for the grey 52 Hudson and the green Chrysler 300C. The fifties was the best decade for car colors so I try to vary my color choices as much as possible.

The '52 Hudson is NOT beige and maroon...

it is Toro Red over French Gray...and it's very accurate!! I like the '53s
and I'll probably pick up a blue and a TORO RED. Tom and his crew have
truly borne out the credibility of "Off-Broadway" marques as images in
1/18 scale. All these guys at H61 are FORMER ERTL EMPLOYEES; I'll bet
RC2 is totally nauseous over this fact. Personally, I can't stop grinning!!!!

I agree Jay. H61 is the best at picking interesting choices in both models and colors. They have also done a great job of varying the choices from each mold. Witness the Stude racers, '52 and '53 Hudsons, and the '67 Olds 442 coupes and convertibles (Why couldn't the convertibles be 66's?). That's why I want them to do the other cars we have been asking for, like the 50 Olds and 54 Mercury.
