This 1957 Alfa Romeo Giuletta Spider seems made for fun loving youths with parents who could afford it. "Giuletta", the diminutive form of Juliet also means 'youthful'. It featured a very high tech DOHC 1.3 liter 4 cylinder with a single 2 bbl carburetor that, with the curb weight under 2000 lbs could reach 100 mph with only 79 HP @ 6000 rpm. It was made for those twisting Italian country roads with a very stiff Pininfarina designed unibody. This 1st series 750D with the 1.3 ceased production in 1962 with series of larger displacement engines continuing to 1965. Much sought after today, auction prices easily exceed $100K with well restored and documented cars as high as $189K.
This AUTOart model is really nicely done. I'm impressed with those unique hood hinges and a really finely crafted trunk escutcheon.
The perfect sports car for windy roads. Beautiful! Thanks Rich.
A fine visual look at this very detailed AutoArt beauty. A real gem of a 1/18 replica !
