Badass Tomb Raider, Lara Croft, made Indiana Jones look like a snow flake and her Land Rover TD5 110 Defender is just as badass, although perhaps a roof mounted 50 Cal would have been appropriate. Three of these Defenders were built for the first Lara Croft film (in the sequel, she slummed it in a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon). Years ago, a semi-retired orthopedist had the office next to mine and with the kids gone, he indulged himself in luxe vehicles that that he could barely drive. I still remember him stripping the gears of his Ferrari while negotiating the incline of the driveway. Anyway, occasionally he'd bring his Land Rover to work that had every option needed to rip up the Serengeti Plains chasing rhinos. The Defender was derived from the WWll military vehicle evolving over the years until production ended in 1996 with the Defender name brought back in 1998 by popular demand. Much in demand was the tricked out 2001 movie car, leading to a limited production tribute series in both the 90 and 110 format. As with the movie cars, the standard 6 cylinder was replaced by a 3.5 liter V8 with automatic transmission. Model by Kyosho:

Saw this one a few weeks back but didn't get the reference.... I've never seen the movie. Details-0-plenty, right?  Well, if you're going to purchased 1/18 sealed resin, I suppose this is the way to do it. 🙄 😎Â
Nice pics!
great looking model. Love those old Defenders.
